LiDar

LiDAR is the abbreviation for „Light Detection and Ranging“ and is a popular method to analyse the environment. LiDAR technology uses the light of a pulsed laser to detect objects. The pulsed light waves are emitted to the environment, reflected by surrounding objects and then returned to the sensor. The process is repeated millions of times per second, making it possible to create a detailed 3D real-time map of the surroundings.
LiDAR has become indispensable in many areas such as geography, meteorology, archaeology, forestry and transportation.
